At Scargill Junior School, we aim to:
- Deliver a broad, balanced curriculum, where children are encouraged to develop understanding, knowledge, skills and creativity.
- Cultivate links between the school, home and wider community.
- Promote confidence, responsibility and independence, and to develop a mutual
respect and consideration for all, regardless of race, gender, culture or ability. - Enable each child to achieve their unique potential within a safe, happy, caring,
learning environment.
Our Scargill Values
PRAISE
The school community indentified a set of six core school values - PRAISE. These are explicitly taught and contribute to the development of our positive school ethos and culture for teaching.
The six values are:
Perseverance
Respect
Aspiration
Independence
Sensitivity
Enthusiasm
Ethos
These school values then underpin our ethos by:
- creating a calm and purposeful environment in which everyone feels valued;
- creating a culture which is open, honest and harmonious;
- supporting the development of good quality relationships between all members of the school community;
- helping pupils to understand themselves through an awareness of their inner selves;
- encouraging pupils to develop their positive dispositions and to choose ther attitudes;
- developing emotional intelligence.
